Information to potential applicants for the 2020 Tour

November 15, 12 - 5 p.m.

Due to Covid-19, the 2020 Durham County Pottery Tour will be held online November 14-15. Participating potters must have a website or online shop (e.g. Etsy) to which the Tour website can link.

Application deadline: September 10, 2020.

Participation fee: $50.

To apply:

  • All applicants:

    • Email the following information to (subject header = DCPT 2020 Application):

      • Name

      • Email address

      • Studio name and address (must be in Durham County, NC)

      • Home address (must be in Durham County, NC)

      • Phone number

      • Website url

      • Description of your art/process (<100 words; we may use this on the Tour website)

      • Five photographs (we may use this on the website and for social media promotion):

        • One studio shot (if you work out of Claymakers or DAC, you do NOT need to include a studio photo);

        • Four images showing representative work.

        • Images should be 1920 x 1920 pixels, jpeg format, 300 dpi, < 1.8 MB. At least one image should have a solid or graduated background; all should show your work in a flattering way. Label images Lastname.Description.jpg (e.g. Smith.Mug.jpg, Smith.Teapot.jpg).

        • Images that do not meet these criteria will be excluded from the website and from social media promotions.

  • Core Members and applicants who have previously participated in the Durham County Pottery Tour:

    • Mail a check for $50 to

      • Cynthia Aldrich, 28 Churchwell Ct., Durham NC, 27713.

      • Make check out to Cynthia Aldrich and write DCPT2020 on the subject line.

      • Checks must be postmarked no later than September 10, 2020.

  • NEW applicants:

    • There is NO jurying fee this year. If your application is accepted, your participation will be contingent on submitting the $50 fee.
