There are 19 potters plus Claymakers and Durham Arts Council Clay Studio, two teaching studios, who are offering Durham County a wonderful weekend touring our local pottery studios. We invite you to see where we make our pottery, ask us questions about our process and purchase something beautiful for gift-giving or for your own personal pleasure.
There is a wide variety of styles of pottery created by the artists including jewelry, tableware--both wheel-thrown and handbuilt---sculpture, garden pieces, and decorative items using a variety of different techniques and firing methods.
We look forward to meeting you, sharing our knowledge and giving you the opportunity to acquire incredible locally-produced pottery.
For our 6th year tour we are again going to offer a drawing for "Pottery Bucks". At each potter's studio there will be a form to fill out to enter your name in a drawing - the more studios you visit the more chances you have to win our "Pottery Bucks". At the end of the tour 2 names will be drawn and those lucky winners will each be given $50 in Pottery Bucks to spend on pottery from any of the tour potters - all at one place or split up. The Pottery Bucks are good for 1 year.
Please contact us for any questions you may have about the tour.
